Manila Restaurant Reviews: Genki Sushi BGC, Taguig, Philippines
Genki Sushi is a super affordable sushi joint located in Bonifacio Stopover (a personal favorite), a convenient hang out place/ study area/ 24 hour establishment located in BGC, Taguig.
I tried checking it out previously and have been back around 3 times, but have always failed to post about the experience.
So let's delve into the Genki Sushi experience!
First, when you go in the establishment, the staff would direct you to a booth and if it is your first time, they will also give directions on how to order. All the booths have a tablet connected to the restaurant's system. This is where you can look at the menu, order your dish, and request for the bill. IMO, this is super convenient for introverts - less human contact. haha.
Then, your food arrives via a small shinkansen aka bullet train. After taking your dish, you press a flashing button to send back the train to the kitchen. Trust me, it's super fun.
I've tried quite a few of their dishes but I recommend getting the seared salmon with black pepper, the crunch salmon nori roll, and shrimp garlic butter sushi. The rice bowls are also actually good and can probably feed two not-so-hungry adults :)
All in all, Genki has never failed me. It has really affordable and yummy dishes. I'd recommend this for the value and for the novelty of the whole experience!

Hey, just finished devouring your review of Genki Sushi in Manila, and I had to give you a shout-out! Your detailed descriptions of the dishes transported me right into the heart of the restaurant. I felt like I could taste every bite just from your words. Bravo on the vivid storytelling!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with your take on the interactive ordering system. It adds such a fun and modern twist to the dining experience. Your mention of the sushi train and the tech-infused atmosphere got me itching to plan a visit. It's amazing how technology has made its mark even in traditional dining settings.
